剧情简介：高中生侦探工藤新一，在与青梅竹马的毛利兰去游乐场玩时无意间目睹了神秘的黑衣人地下交易。专注于偷看的他没有注意到从身后悄悄接近的黑衣人同伙，被打昏了后强灌下神秘的毒药——APTX4869，醒来时发现自己的身体居然变成了小孩！为了使自己身体回复原状，计诱歹徒现身找到解药，在阿笠博士的建议下工藤新一于是开始设法影藏身份。有一天他在阿笠博士的家中恰好看到书架上《江户川乱步》全集，而他是《柯南道尔》的书迷，于是灵感一动，他自称江户川柯南，借住在毛利小五郎的侦探事务所中，一边用阿笠博士发明的道具假装成毛利小五郎破案，为小五郎赢得“沉睡的小五郎”这一盛名，一边追查着神秘的黑衣组织。同时，装作一年级的小学生，结识吉田步美等人，组成少年侦探队，并将身份告诉了以前结识的高中生侦探服部平次。后来APTX4869的制作者宫野志保逃离组织，身体缩小后更名为灰原哀寄住在阿笠博士家。黑衣组织不断追查着雪莉的下落，而柯南一次次与黑衣组织正面或暗地冲突，后来更是与同样目的的FBI联手。为了恢复原来的模样，柯南仍在不停的追逐着，至今仍在寻找黑衣组织的那些人。
